GUITAR WIELDING KEVIN REESE INTENDS TO BLUR THE LINE BETWEEN COUNTRY, ROCK N’ ROLL, AND BLUES MUSIC. KEVIN IS IN THE PROCESS OF WRITING AND RECORDING HIS FIRST FULL-LENGTH ALBUM, BUILDING THE SONGS FROM THE GROUND UP, ONE MOMENT OF INSPIRATION AT A TIME.
Kevin is very much a country boy. He lives in the sleepy town of Hot Springs, NC, near Asheville, that is hidden deep in the Appalachian mountains. “This place is a treasure. If you take look at your surroundings, you may just lose your breath.” The simple lifestyle he lives and the incredible people he surrounds himself with is where his inspiration is drawn.
Kevin picked up the guitar back in 2001 (at age eleven) with the help of his dad, Ed. Since then, he has formed an addiction to music that he just can’t shake. He cut his teeth in high school where he was a member of an FFA band (Borderline) that allowed him to have his first traveling experiences. Borderline performed at dozens of conferences around the state, but most notably, played in front of 20,000+ rowdy FFA members in Louisville, KY (2004 & 2005) and Indianapolis, IN (2006). Following high school, Kevin has shared the bill with Country legends such as T. Graham Brown, Earl Thomas Conley, and David Ball.
Kevin is actively performing with numerous folks (Kemistry, Jeffrey Thomas, Ashley Heath) while continuing to develop his own project, Barred From Dodge, which is to be released in early 2013. “I’ve been working on this idea for years, and I’m now finally ready to get it off of the ground and into people’s ears. It’s a cornucopia of all my influences, especially Country, Blues, and good ol’ Rock n’ Roll. I’ve never been more excited about something in my life.”
